About SCCA

Silam Coast Conservation Area or SCCA lies within the Coral Triangle and the Sulu Sea. Its coastal forest fringes Darvel Bay which is one of the world's most fertile marine areas in terms of biodiversity and is part of a Priority Conservation Area of the Sulu - Sulawesi Marine Eco-region. Several initiatives are being undertaken by the Group to establish this area as a marine and coastal forest research centre.

The area is approximately 2,770 hectares and comprises of Tumunong Hallu and Bangkuruan Mangrove Forest Reserves as well as the two nearby Tabun and Saranga islands.

Selamat Datang! Welcome! to Sabah, Malaysia - the Land Below the Wind.

We are from the Conservation & Environmental Management Division, a division under the Sabah Foundation Group, Sabah, Malaysia manages the conservation and forest rehabilitation areas in a sustainable manner, both economically and environmentally.  There are 5 unique ecosystems of the conservation areas, namely Danum Valley, Maliau Basin, Imbak Canyon, Silam Coast and Taliwas River and forest rehabilitation namely INFAPRO and INIKEA.  In the Southeast Asian region, the Group has established itself as the leader in conservation efforts and rehabilitation of logged-over-forest.

In addition to that, we are also promoting our “Outstanding Areas of Wild Natural Beauty” to both domestic and international travel and tourism.  Our areas offers diverse natural landscape, rainforests, wildlife spotting, beaches, as well as underwater treasures.  We are making all efforts to protect and preserve these rich natural assets for future generations to inherit in synonyms to our brand “Nurture Our Nature, It Is Our Children's Future Too”.
